Speaker:It is not suitable for minors, professional settings,
Speaker:or the faint of heart.
Speaker:In celebration of National Storytelling Week, I'll
Speaker:be publishing individual stories each day.
Speaker:This story was told live on stage at Petras by
Speaker:Brian Penn.
Speaker:Hey, everybody.
Speaker:So I noticed as everyone was going up, a lot of
Speaker:people have, like, stage names or like, sex
Speaker:positive Sally and, you know, just fun.
Speaker:Well, I just did it because I'm so used to always
Speaker:putting my normal life just my name and tell
Speaker:these first names and code names.
Speaker:I'm hearing all these stories like, all right, that's
Speaker:my name.
Speaker:It has been a saucy night tonight.
Speaker:Well, I'm a horny in a group of 100 people.
Speaker:Some of you have been in this position before.
Speaker:Many position.
Speaker:Many.
Speaker:That was quick.
Speaker:I liked it.
Speaker:Yeah, no, I hadn't really planned on telling a
Speaker:saucy story here.
Speaker:Here's a could have been saucy story.
Speaker:It's one of those yeah.
Speaker:In my teens and early 20s, for whatever reason, I
Speaker:don't know what you call it, but I didn't feel like I
Speaker:was a very desired person.
Speaker:And the therapy, I got over it.
Speaker:But the worst is I had no idea when somebody
Speaker:was interested in me, ever.
Speaker:Every single time it'll go over my head.
Speaker:We're at a party.
Speaker:I'm at this party, I'm talking to this girl, and at one
Speaker:point she takes her cigarette out and she puts it
Speaker:in my mouth, right?
Speaker:And I'm thinking to myself, like, I think this girl
Speaker:might I think maybe she could possibly be into
Speaker:me.
Speaker:I don't know where to go.
Speaker:I was like, I don't know.
Speaker:But for real, I'm 51% sure this woman isn't my
Speaker:and so the party's winding down.
Speaker:And even if she was, I wouldn't know what to do.
Speaker:I was like, 20.
Speaker:I have no idea.
Speaker:Unless we're both naked on a bed.
Speaker:I really don't.
Speaker:But from this to that, I don't know.
Speaker:The ends of the middle part, I think I'm like, okay,
Speaker:well, maybe I know that bed is where sex
Speaker:happens.
Speaker:I need to get us closer to bed somehow, right?
Speaker:I'm a very tactical, strategic person.
Speaker:I've been my entire life.
Speaker:Meanwhile, she's down.
Speaker:I learned that years later, right?
Speaker:So if we get upstairs, I'm like, what do I do up
Speaker:there?
Speaker:I don't know.
Speaker:Show us some some interest that's going to get
Speaker:cringe.
Speaker:I'm going to let you know, like, consensual cringe,
Speaker:but like, oh, dude, that kind of cringe.
Speaker:I'm like, oh, maybe if I could show her my art
Speaker:book, I can do that.
Speaker:So we get upstairs, right?
Speaker:And I'm like, yeah.
Speaker:So I'll just sit on this mattress that has no frame.
Speaker:And I was like, no.
Speaker:And so I go over this five star Mead notebook
Speaker:filled with doodles.
Speaker:Filled with doodles that I drew when I was sad.
Speaker:I didn't tell her that. I knew that much.
Speaker:I knew I shouldn't tell her that. For half an hour as
Speaker:she slowly dries like a lake bed, like an ancient
Speaker:lake bed.
Speaker:So at the end of that, we get to the end of the
Speaker:book.
Speaker:I'm like, you know, I still don't how do I we're at
Speaker:the bed, but like, how do I and so I'm like, so do
Speaker:you want to, like, sleep here tonight or and she
Speaker:goes, you know, I don't want to do that, but here.
Speaker:And then she, like, kisses me and she says, all
Speaker:right, good night, and goes. But there's a silver
Speaker:lining.
Speaker:Because three years later... I'm kidding.
Speaker:There, no, that was the end. Come back
Speaker:tomorrow as I publish another individual story in
Speaker:celebration of National Storytelling Week.
Speaker:These stories are recorded live every third
Speaker:Tuesday of the month at Petra's in Charlotte,
Speaker:North Carolina.
